AboutTULSA BROADWAY SEASON 2008 - 2009

The 2008-2009 Celebrity Attractions’ Broadway Season will cast a spell on Tulsa as the 10-time Tony® nominated WICKED flies into town on its first national tour.  Currently selling out in New York and across the country, this magical musical will thrill audiences of all ages.  Joining the witches and wizard will be Oprah Winfrey’s THE COLOR PURPLE, a musical tribute to Frank, Sammy and Dean in THE RAT PACK- Live at the Sands, the Tony® Award winning musical comedy THE DROWSY CHAPERONE and one rambunctious night full of pillow fights, jazzy songs, hot dance and exuberant laughter in THE PAJAMA GAME.

In business for more than 25 years, Celebrity Attractions is a presenter and producer of major theatrical, musical and family entertainment across the country. Currently, the company presents the “Celebrity Attractions Broadway Series” Season in six markets (Tulsa, Oklahoma; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Springfield, Missouri; Lubbock, Texas; Amarillo, Texas and Little Rock, Arkansas) handles the marketing and group sales for other national touring events and runs the ticketing for events held in Robinson Center Music Hall in Little Rock, Arkansas. Presenting credits include such Broadway blockbusters as THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, LES MISERABLES, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, THE PRODUCERS, the new MEL BROOKS musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT, and WICKED. Specialty acts include 1964...The Tribute, Mandy Patinkin, David Copperfield and Discover Card Stars On Ice.

In addition, Larry Payton, Celebrity Attractions President, has had a hand in producing several productions for Broadway and the road, including: MOVIN' OUT, the new Billy Joel/Twyla Tharp Musical, DREAMGIRLS, HIGH SOCIETY, PETER PAN starring Cathy Rigby (for which he won an Emmy Award), FOOTLOOSE, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (for which he won a Tony Award®).

A member of the League of American Theatres and Producers, Mr. Payton has the privilege of being a Tony® voter. He was honored with a 2001 Emmy Award for his involvement in the A&E Television Special, PETER PAN starring Cathy Rigby and is producing the 2004 national tour of PETER PAN starring Cathy Rigby in this, her farewell tour.
