AMBUCS meetings, community service projects and special events bring together a wide variety of people to promote common causes. AMBUCS members quickly become AMBUCS friends. And many of those friendships last a lifetime.
-SOCIAL-
AMBUCS provides fun, innovative service opportunities for people who want to help their community but who do not necessarily have a lot of time to do so. By working together, AMBUCS volunteers make their spare time go a long, long way.
-PROFESSIONAL -
As you work shoulder to shoulder with these volunteers, you’ll contribute to club activities and goals, and you’ll learn new skills that can pay lasting dividends in your professional life. You will also have the opportunity to make valuable contacts and develop leadership skills.
-SERVICE-
There is no doubt that service to others is what AMBUCS is all about. When you join AMBUCS, you’ll join a group of individuals over 6,000 strong nationwide who are ready to make a difference in their community. AMBUCS local and national service projects generate intense satisfaction and pride.
AmBility and AMBUCS Scholars are the two national service projects of AMBUCS. Within the AmBility project is the AmTryke program. This program is designed to give children with disabilities their first set of wheels. This unique therapeutic tricycle is hand and/or foot driven. It improves motor coordination, increases self-esteem and is fun to ride.
A long-running success story, the AMBUCS Scholarships for Therapists project-represents the largest single private source of educational grants for therapists in America. AMBUCS has provided over five million dollars to educate physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists and hearing audiologists.
Both of these projects are powerful symbols of AMBUCS national mission: to help create independence for people with disabilities.
